Event DescriptionReady to make some feathered friends for the winter? Curious about what those birds are up to flying around in the snow?
Join us for a morning hike focused on the basics of birding before the annual Christmas Bird count hosted by the National Audubon Society each winter. Birding is an easy way to connect to nature during the chilly winter season; you can even try it from your window at home! We'll learn how to use binoculars, try a mini bird count, and learn about what birds in Wisconsin are up to in the winter.
No experience or supplies necessary! Please dress for the weather and prepare for a short 1 mile hike (with lots of stops along the way when we encounter birds of course).
Questions? Feel free to reach out to Augie Rodenbeck, Program Systems Manager, at arodenbeck@urbanecologycenter.org or (414) 626-8518.
