Event Description
(For adults) This program is designed for people without previous burn experience or those who want a refresher. The class will be taught by Emily Helm (UEC Land Manager) along with Tom Zagar and Dan Carter of the Glacial Prairie Chapter of The Prairie Enthusiasts (TPE).

Successful participation in this training, plus helping on two UEC and/or TPE burns as an apprentice, provides qualifications to be a new crew member on UEC and/or TPE burns. Both the Glacial Prairie Chapter of TPE and UEC will keep a registry.

• Fuels and firebreaks 
• Safety on the fire line 
• Weather considerations 
• Tools and equipment 
• Executing a burn plan
