(For everyone) When out exploring your backyard on a cold, snowy, single-digit winter day like I’m sure all of us do, the last thing you expect to find are insects and their relatives. Yet winter is the best time to look for snow fleas! A close relative of the insects, snow fleas are a type of springtail with their own internal antifreeze proteins that allow them to survive frigid conditions that would instantly kill other bugs. Luckily we can explore the wonders of snow fleas from the warmth of the places we’re staying so grab your favorite morning beverage and join us for an hour of winter wonder!
