Event Description
(For adults & teens) Feel the buzz emanating from the "Everglades of the North" during spring migration while exploring this Wisconsin gem. The Horicon Marsh has a rich natural history, with human use dating back to prehistoric times. Take a tour of various hot spots throughout the Marsh with UEC staff, and look for dozens of species including warblers, waterfowl, and shorebirds - with the potential to see a Whooping Crane, Sora, Yellow-Headed Blackbird, Bobolink, Meadowlark, or the rare Glossy Ibis. Friends from the International Crane Foundation will also join us and share about the work they’re doing with whooping cranes and help us to try to locate them in the marsh. Binoculars available upon request. Anticipate some short hikes and make sure to pack a lunch!
Waitlist available - email atokuyama@urbanecologycenter.org to be added if the trip is full.
